Paul McCartney pulled out all the stops at the opening show of his Out There world tour in Brazil this past weekend, performing five Beatles songs as well as two Wings songs. According to Consequence of Sound, Sir Paul performed "Eight Days a Week," "Your Mother Should Know," "All Together Now," "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!" and "Lovely Rita."

Heart is among the acts taking the stage at the 42nd annual Bumbershoot Festival, which takes place at the Seattle Center in Washington from August 31 to September 2. The recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees take the stage on Saturday, August 31. The fest, featuring over 100 acts in all, typically draws a crowd of 100,000 or so.

Several guitarists have paid tribute to the late Jeff Hanneman, founding member of Slayer and heavy metal guitar hero. Hanneman died of liver failure last week at the age of 49. Aerosmith Calls Off Concert Due To Bomb Threat »
Aerosmith canceled a concert in Jakarta, Indonesia on May 4 following reports of a bomb threat in the capital city. Rolling Stone magazine reports that the band made the decision after the government announced the arrest of two militants engaged in a plot to bomb the Myanmar Embassy. Management for the group made a formal apology via Ismaya Live, the event's promoter.
