Foreigner's Mick Jones Speaks On 'Crazy' Times With Van Halen »
Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones has opened up about some of his most interesting experiences as a producer, including some colorful sessions with Van Halen. Speaking with Ultimate Classic Rock, he said working with the rockers was a wild time: "We went through some crazy times. The engineer locked himself in the studio for a day and threatened to burn the tapes."

John Lennon's Lyrics And Letters Donated For Tax Relief »
Beatles biographer Hunter Davies has donated letters and lyrics by John Lennon to the British Library as part of a new tax relief scheme. His collection, which includes handwritten lyrics to "Strawberry Fields Forever", marks the first donation of the new Cultural Gifts Scheme.

Drummer Jim Gordon, Co-Writer Of 'Layla,' Denied Parole »
Session musician Jim Gordon, who co-wrote the Derek and the Dominos classic "Layla" with Eric Clapton, has been denied parole until at least 2018 after serving 30 years in prison for the 1983 murder of his mother. According to Rolling Stone, a California board panel deemed the musician "a danger to society if released from prison . . ."

Rolling Stones' Ron Wood Opens Art Exhibit »
Ron Wood, guitarist for the Rolling Stones, has a new collection of art on display at London's Castle Fine Art Gallery. The exhibit features 100 pieces of art, including pictures of his bandmates. "When I get inspired, I get almost possessed and I just have to paint," said Wood in a press release.

Alice Cooper Guitar Summits Everest »
A guitar autographed by Alice Cooper has reached the summit of Mt. Everest. The instrument was packed by firefighter and wilderness guide Todd Pendleton, who made the harrowing climb to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Pendleton set out with a goal of raising $25,000 for the society and reached $18,000 before even finishing the climb.

New Dave Davies Solo Album Coming June 4 »
Dave Davies, guitarist of the Kinks, is coming out with a new solo album. The LP, Davies' sixth solo effort, is titled I Will Be Me. This will be Davies' first record since 2007's Fractured Mindz and his second since suffering a stroke in 2006. Numerous special guests are reported to be on the album, including the Jayhawks and Anti-Flag.
