Stephen Stills and Kenny Wayne Shepherd are teaming up with keyboardist Barry Goldberg for a new trio dubbed the Rides, and will release a new album entitled Can't Get Enough on July 30. Can't Get Enough features a pair of covers, Iggy and the Stooges' "Search and Destroy" and Neil Young's "Rockin' the Free World."

Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton has dropped off the band's current tour due to a lingering chest infection. Hamilton has returned home to recover, and he plans to rejoin the band and continue their Global Warming tour when he feels well enough. Aerosmith are currently on a tour of Australia and New Zealand.

The Rolling Stones played a surprise gig at the Echoplex Nightclub in Los Angeles ahead of the launch of their 50 and Counting tour. "Welcome to Echo Park, a neighborhood that's always coming up -- and I'm glad you're here to welcome an up-and-coming band," fronter Mick Jagger jested with the crowd of a few hundred people.

David Bowie has released a 42-word statement on his new album, The Next Day, dubbed as a "work flow diagram," intended to describe the LP. Bowie has previously not released any statements on the new album. The Next Day is Bowie's 24th studio album, and first in a decade, since 2003's Reality. The album was produced by Tony Visconti.

Styx will release The Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight Live, a landmark performance that saw the legendary band performing both of their seminal album in full live, on May 7 via Eagle Rock Entertainment. The recording was captured during the band's performance at the Orpheum Theater in Memphis on November 9, 2010, a performance that features a number of Styx classics.
