Black Sabbath Confirms They Will Carry On Without Bill Ward

Black Sabbath have vowed that they will continue with their reunion plans-without Bill Ward.

The Black Sabbath drummer revealed last week that he would not be touring with the band, noting that he found the touring and recording contract offered to him "unsignable", posting on his Facebook page:

"My position is not greed-driven. I'm not holding out for a 'big piece' of the action (money) like some kind of blackmail deal . . . [just] a signable contract . . . that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band."

Fellow band members Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi responded to Ward's claims on Facebook:

"We were saddened to hear via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current [plans]. We have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open."

Black Sabbath have announced plans to perform at the Download Festival on June 10, with a subsequent European summer tour yet to be confirmed.
