Bono's Injury Costs Insurance Firm $17.5 Million

Bono's back injury and emergency surgery have reportedly left one insurance firm holding the bag for about $17.5 million. According to a new report from the U.K.'s Sun, a firm called Robertson Taylor is responsible for the Irish rocker's medical costs.

The U2 frontman slipped a disk in his back while rehearsing for a North American leg of the band's epic 360° tour, forcing the group to cancel 16 dates. The cancelled dates cost the band an estimated $152 million. They have since rescheduled the run for next year.

The run will now kick off next May in Denver, Colorado, and will wrap up in Minneapolis, Minnesota in July. U2 will resume their European dates in Turin, Italy, on August 6.

"We're delighted the dates are rescheduled and in all the same venues we originally planned to play," U2 manager Paul McGuiness said in a statement. "Above all we want to thank the U2 fans for bearing with us. They're the best and the band wants to get back to where they belong, surrounded by their audience."
