Van Halen To Perform At Next Year's Superbowl Halftime Show?
In a recent interview with USA Today, Eddie Van Halen and his son, Wolfgang, talked on a variety of topics. One revelation-that the band has "special" plans for 2013-has led to speculation that Van Halen may play the next Super Bowl halftime show.
The rumor first popped up on NBC's ProFootballTalk.com, where Mike Florio discussed the possibility:
"I've yet to come up with all the 'special' things a rock group can do . . . but playing at the Super Bowl would be at or near the top."
Eddie also dished on the string of recent dates the band canceled, saying that the tour was too ambitious from the outset:
"We bit off more than we could chew. This record took a lot out of us. And we went on tour earlier than we wanted to so we could play Madison Square Garden, and that threw the schedule out of whack."
