Stevie Wonder Concert At The University Of Hawaii Canceled

A Stevie Wonder concert scheduled at the University of Hawaii's Stan Sheriff Center has been canceled after Wonder's agent told school officials that he had no knowledge of the event's booking.

"The University of Hawaii has been informed by Stevie Wonder's agent at Creative Artist Agency that the artist is not available for an August 18, 2012 concert. The event was booked by an unauthorized 3rd party without the knowledge or consent of Mr. Wonder's representatives," Jim Donovan, UH Athletics Director, told NBC's local affiliate.

The promoter who scheduled the show, Bob Peyton, says he worked with Wonder's international agent in Spain. Peyton adds that he is trying to retrieve the $200,000 fronted to the agent.

Officials had sold 6,000 tickets which it has now promised to refund.
