Bruce Springsteen recently hit back at London organizers who pulled the plug during his Hard Rock Calling show, which also featured Paul McCartney, last Saturday.
As the Boss took the stage at a show in Dublin on Tuesday, he came on stage with a power generator prop and said: "Before we were so rudely interrupted . . ." Following this he went into performing, "Twist and Shout," which was the song he had been playing with McCartney when the power was shut off.
Later in the show Springsteen also held up a sign that read: "Only the Boss says when to pull the plug."
Live Nation's Chief Operating Officer for Europe, Paul Latham, explained why the promoter was forced to cut the power off during that particular show at the 10:30 p.m. curfew:
"The residents of Park Lane and Mayfair may not be numerous but they wield inordinate power over the Gogs and Magogs of City Hall and Parliament," he said.
