Aerosmith Taps Johnny Depp For New Album

Aerosmith have recorded with actor Johnny Depp on the track "Freedom Fighter" from their forthcoming LP, Music from Another Dimension.

Joe Perry, speaking with Rolling Stone magazine, says should the song fail to make the standard version of the LP, it would be featured as a bonus b-side.

Perry added that frontman Steven Tyler, during his time on American Idol, never neglected his Aerosmith duties:

"He did double duty. I never felt for a minute he was lagging in the studio because of his other job. He did his whole thing [on Idol] and then showed up at eight at night and was in the studio until two in the morning."

Music from Another Dimension, which features the lead single "Legendary Child," is due sometime in November.
