Jackson Browne Performs At Newport Folk Festival
Jackson Browne performed at the 53rd annual Newport Folk Festival, which attracted over 10,000 fans and 50 acts during its two days.
In addition to headlining, Browne was seen all over the festival grounds, chatting with friends and watching other acts. He had especially kind words for Dawes and Jonathan Wilson:
"I'd be hard pressed to name a young man that's written anything near as good some of Taylor [Goldsmith] or Jonathan's Wilson's songs," Browne told Rolling Stone magazine. "These guys are killer songwriters."
During his set, Browne invited the pair onstage, playing such classics as "The Late Show" and "Take It Easy."
Others to perform over the weekend included Wilco, Tom Morello, Conor Oberst, My Morning Jacket, Deer Tick, Patty Griffin and Iron & Wine.
