Robert Plant Contributes Theme To New Kelsey Grammer Show
Robert Plant has contributed his version of the traditional track, "Satan, Your Kingdom Must Come Down," to the opening credits of Kelsey Grammer's new series Boss. The track appears on Plant's 2010 album Band of Joy.
While speaking with Contact Music, Grammer explained how the theme song was chosen:
"Robert Plant is a friend of mine and an acquaintance. And we had drinks one night in New York City, and I had just seen his concert with the Band of Joy that he's been doing, and he said, 'You know, Satan, Your Kingdom Must Come Down is a great song.' I said, 'Yeah, that is a great song.'"
The show is set to premier on Starz on August 17, and Grammer appears as the mayor of Chicago. His character's health begins to fail but he hides his condition from the public to remain in office.
"I think it's remarkable as a piece to open the show," he continued. "And I think it does foretell a little bit. It also misleads a little bit. It leaves a mystery open, and I like the way it feels. It's a great performance."
