Roger Waters And Joe Walsh Hit Levon Helm Tribute Concert
Roger Waters and Joe Walsh both hit the stage at a tribute concert for Levon Helm, the late drummer of The Band, on Wednesday night at New Jersey's Izod Center. The concert served as a fundraiser at the converted barn in Woodstock, New York where Helm lived and recorded until his death at the age of 71 last April.
Rogers spoke on the jovial drummer/vocalist and shared a specific memento from the rock legend:
"This guy came over to me, and he kind of chewed a little, like he did, and he went, 'Roger, I like your style, I want you to have my hat,'" Waters said, speaking of Helm. "And he gave me his hat, and it's been my fishing hat ever since . . . and it will be with me to the day I die."
