Bono Does Tea With Russian Pres
Russian president Dmitry Medvedev sat down with U2 front man Bono for tea last week, as the sunglassed singer prepared for the group's first ever Moscow concert.
During the meeting, Bono and Mendvedev chatted on world issues as well as classic rock, reports suggest. Sources say the president told Bono that, "You are doing important things, because taking care of people is not only a job for politicians."
He also thanked the singer for writing music that "that unites generations."
The Russian president and Bono discussed HIV/AIDS efforts in Africa, and also bridging the gap in classic rock.
"I come here to cross the great divide between me, a Led Zeppelin fan, and you, the Deep Purple fan," Bono told Medvedev.
U2 played Moscow on Wednesday as part of their 360 Tour.
