Bruce Springsteen Signs On To Headline Rock In Rio 2013

Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band have been announced as one of the headlining acts for next year's Rock in Rio festival. The Boss joins other previously announced acts Metallica and Iron Maiden.

2013 will mark Springsteen's second ever performance in Brazil. His only other previous appearance was at the Estadio Palmeiras in Sao Paulo on October 12, 1988 as part of Amnesty International's Human Rights Now! Tour, with Sting, Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman and Senegalese star Youssou N'Dour.

Rock in Rio 2013 will be held from September 13-22, 2013. Springsteen takes to the stage on Sept. 15, while Metallica will close the festivities on Sept. 19.

Tickets for Rock in Rio 2013 will go on sale exclusively to Brazilian residents on October 23. They will be available to the rest of the world in April 2013.
