Pete Townshend Walks Offstage During Who Tour Opener

Pete Townshend decided to walk offstage at the Who's opening show for their "Quadrophenia + More" tour, because the volume onstage got to be too loud for him. The show took place on Thursday, November 1.

The crowd was confused by Townshend's departure, and after he refused to come back to the stage, Roger Daltrey tried to calm them, saying, "Pete's having guitar troubles."

The band tried to play "Baba O'Reilly," but without Townshend, the song wasn't the same and they called it a night after that.

Pete's brother Simon later hit Twitter to offer an explanation: "Pete walked off tonight because it was too loud. Was a good show but had some technical problems."
