Brian Epstein Statue Coming To Liverpool

Brain Epstein will be honored with a statue in his hometown of Liverpool. The former Beatles manager's friends and family announced the news last week, noting that they are aiming to raise nearly $100,000 to fund the statue.

The sculptor is Tom Murphy, who is responsible for the representation of John Lennon at the Liverpool airport, which is named after the Beatle frontman.

The group behind the Epstein statue says that he should have a statue erected in his honor as well:

"Brian Epstein fully deserves to have a statue honoring him," Sam Leach, one-time Beatles promoter and friend of Epstein, told Examiner.com.

"He took the Beatles to national and worldwide fame and, despite their obvious talent, they may not have made it without him. With his urbane, dignified manner Brian opened doors that had previously been slammed in my face."
