Brian May Releases 'Born Free' For Charity

Brian May has released his rendering of the classic song "Born Free," originally written by John Barry and Don Black as the theme to the film of the same name, about the release of an orphaned lioness back into the wild.

May's version, recorded with West End and Broadway star Kerry Ellis, benefits the international wildlife charity Born Free Foundation.

"We paid a lot of respect to this iconic song and were fortunate to have Don Black himself write some special new lyrics as we put our own mark on this awesome and moving track. We hope that people will really like what we have done and that it will contribute to the long-lasting legacy of this great piece of music," said May in a presser regarding the release.
