Duff McKagan popped up at the Gibson Showroom in London to talk about his support for Help for Heroes, a war veteran's charity, and also stuck around to meet a few wounded soldiers.
"These guys are incredible. I'm scared performing for such a small crowd. I played Wembley last night but this is much scarier," he told BANG Showbiz at the event where he read extracts from his new book, It's So Easy and Other Lies, and played some new tracks with his current band, Loaded.
McKagan also reminisced on the old days with Guns n' Roses, saying that standards were higher for musicians in those days:
"When I met Slash when I was 19, that guy was like an old bluesman on the guitar, people could really play, you had to, you had to play your way out of whatever it was."
