Calling all Roger Waters and Pink Floyd fans: it looks as though you won't have to wait much longer for new music, as Waters has confirmed the completion of a song for a tentatively-titled new album, Heartland.
According to Waters, the track was completed on lunch breaks during the elaborate "Wall" tour that ended this past July. The song confronts what Waters calls "religious extremism."
He told Rolling Stone magazine that "the 'Heartland' idea sort of came from another song I wrote maybe 15 years ago, which was a song that I wrote for a movie - a really, really bad movie called Michael."
"I'm absolutely determined to make another album. And I think this new song may give me the chance to do that. It provides a cornerstone and a core idea for me to write a new album about," he added.
