Henry McCullough, known for his guitar work alongside Paul McCartney, is critically ill following a heart attack, says his family.
"He is a very special person," McCullough's sister Rae Morrison told the BBC. "We really are very worried for him, his sister is on her way home from Florida and his brother is coming home from Glasgow."
McCullough is one of the world's best-known guitarists. He has worked with Wings, George Harrison and Joe Cocker, with whom he performed with at the original Woodstock festival in 1969.
After touring with Sir Paul, McCullough signed to Harrison's record label Dark Horse in order to put out his debut solo LP Mind Your Own Business in 1975. He released his last album, Poor Man's Moon, in 2008.
