Beatles Dominate List Of Most Expensive Records

The Beatles dominate the Top 10 list of the most expensive recordings, which is compiled every two years by Record Collector magazine.

The list is actually topped by the Quarrymen, a pre-Beatles band that featured John Lennon, Sir Paul McCartney, George Harrison, John "Duff" Lowe and Colin Hanton. A unique acetate copy of their demo "That'll Be The Day/In Spite Of All The Danger," worth about $320,000, comes in at number one on the list. Taking second place is a 1981 7-inch 45 rpm and 10-inch 78 rpm replica of the 1958 "That'll Be the Day/In Spite of All the Danger," worth about $16,000.

The Beatles dominate the rest of the list with their 1968 self-titled Apple release, followed by "Please Please Me" and their 1962 "Love Me Do/PS I Love You" double-sided single.
