MerleFest, the four-day festival featuring approximately 90 artists, has announced the Charlie Daniels band as the most recent addition to its bill.
The fest, which takes place from April 25-28 in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, also will feature appearances by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Matraca Berg, Sam Bush, Rhonda Vincent and others.
"For the past 25 years he has been the artistic and spiritual center of this festival, so this year, we will come together as a family to pay special tribute to the man and the musician who meant so much to us all," Ted Hagaman, director of the festival, said in a statement.
MerleFest is known for its unique mix of traditional, roots-oriented music from the Appalachian region, including bluegrass and old-time music, Americana, blues, country, Celtic, Cajun, cowboy, zydeco, rock and more. Tickets are on sale now at www.merlefest.org.
