Classic Rock Awards Honors Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Rush

Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top and Rush were among the rock legends honored at the 2012 Roll of Honour ceremony held by Classic Rock magazine at the Roundhouse in London.

Skynyrd, who played a 30-minute set for invited guests following the gala dinner, took home the Comeback Award. ZZ Top was honored with the Living Legend Award, while Rush got Album of the Year for their latest release Clockwork Angels.

"You would never know it from listening to the radio or watching TV, but . . . it's actually been a great year for new rock music. Classic Rock is proud to keep on supporting rock music, classic and brand new, and the Roll of Honour has become an office party for the rock industry," said the mag's editor Scott Rowley said at the event.

Other winners at the Duff McKagan-hosted event included Pink Floyd (Reissue of the Year, Immersion), Jon Lord (Tommy Vance Inspiration Award) and Nikki Sixx (Showman of the Year).
