George Harrison's Son Has His Own Supergroup

Dhani Harrison, son of late Beatles legend George Harrison, is now attempting to make his mark in the music biz.

The younger Harrison has co-founded a new band called Fistful of Mercy with acclaimed musicians Ben Harper and Joseph Arthur. The group performed an eight song set for winners of a KCRW radio contest this month at a Los Angeles studio, and their album, As I Call You Down, is expected soon.

"The sound could be unruly or tranquil, unveiling a modern, quirkier take on the Crosby, Stills and Nash model, colliding folk, blues, eccentric pop and gorgeous three-part vocal harmonies," says The L.A. Times Music Blog.

CNN says lyrical influences from John Lennon are even apparent in Harrison's words.

"I can't believe I get to call them my musical brothers," said Harrison about his bandmates to CNN. Harrison had initially met Harper at a Santa Monica skatepark, and the two took it from there.

As I Call You Down is anticipated to be released on October 5.
