Brian May has been rumored to replace the recently departed Sir Patrick Moore as host on the BBC astronomy program, The Sky at Night.
May and Moore, close friends, were linked by various passions. May completed his PhD in astrophysics a few years ago, while Moore was an accomplished musician, composing music and playing the xylophone.
Speaking with The Telegraph, Dr. Richard Miles, former president of the British Astronomical association, said that May would be a good fit as host on the show:
"Brian has wide experience and would grow into the job if he was given a free hand. It has got to be a larger-than-life character but no one can ever match Patrick in that regard."
Neither the BBC nor May have commented on the speculation, and the network is reportedly still at odds on whether to continue airing the show.
