The members of Thin Lizzy have confirmed that they have reformed with a new lineup and changed their name. The band will now be called Black Star Riders and feature Scott Gorham (guitar), Ricky Warwick (vocals), Damon Johnson (guitar), Marco Mendoza (bass) and new member Jimmy Degrasso (drums).
The band will not, however, include current Thin Lizzy drummer Darren Wharton or original co-founder Brian Downey.
Gorham broke the news in an interview with Noise11.com, saying Lizzy fans can still get their fix:
"Because everybody knows where we came from and what we do, it is kind of a must. We will be playing most of the Black Star Riders album but I don't think we'd get away without playing a few Thin Lizzy songs."
Thin Lizzy will hit the road with Kiss and Mötley Crüe in Australia in the coming months, after which shows, says Gorham, the name change will go down.
