Thin Lizzy Name Change Didn't Put Off Label Boss

According to Monte Conner, president of Nuclear Blast records, he signed Thin Lizzy without reservation-even after the band decided to shuffle its line-up and change its name.

"As a lifelong Thin Lizzy fan I was floored by this lineup's new material. Not only do the new songs sound like Thin Lizzy, they sound like classic Thin Lizzy," the label prexy told Classic Rock magazine.

The re-christened band, Black Star Riders, have an album scheduled for release in May, with a world tour to follow. Conner adds that the new band has it all, a perfect mix of the old and the new:

"Black Star Riders totally captures the essence of what was great about the original band, while at the same time adding something totally fresh and modern."
