Fans of the late Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury, will have an opportunity to bid on his 1974 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow in an upcoming auction.
Mercury's Royce is unique not only because he owned it, but also because the Silver Shadow introduced many new features to the automotive world, such as disc rather than drum brakes, and independent rear suspension, instead of the outdated live axle design featured in other cars.
The car was originally purchased on September 30, 1979 by Mercury's company, Goose Productions Ltd.
Longtime manager for Queen, Jim Beach, wrote a letter for the car's file stating that the car was bought for Mercury's use, and continued to be used and owned by the company until Mercury's death in November 1991.
