ZZ Top have confirmed a pair of tour dates in the U.K. set for next summer. The bearded rockers will first hit the London Hammersmith Apollo on June 24 and then play the Manchester 02 Apollo the following night.
The shows will come in support of the band's forthcoming fifteenth studio release, which will be their first since 2003's Mescalero. One thing fans can count on is that the blues rockers will have their signature beards in tow for the shows.
During a recent interview, Billy Gibbons explains that he and Dusty Hill once turned down an offer of $1 million to shave as a publicity stunt for Gillette razors:
"No dice. Even adjusted for inflation, this isn't going to fly. They prospect of seeing oneself in the mirror clean-shaven is too close to a Vincent Price film . . . a prospect not to be contemplated, no matter the compensation."
