The estate of Jimi Hendrix has released, "Somewhere," the first cut from People, Hell and Angels, a collection of 12 recordings cut between 1968 1969. The comp is due March 4.
"Somewhere" features Buddy Miles (drums) and Stephen Stills (bass), and is described by Rolling Stone magazine as "a far-reaching psychedelic blues jam . . . [the track] rides signature Hendrix wails, long exploratory solos and free-flowing wordplay."
Other songs featured on the album are "Earth Blues," "Hear My Train A Comin'," "Bleeding Heart," "Baby Let Me Move You," "Izabella," "Easy Blues," "Crash Landing," "Inside Out," "Hey Gypsy Boy," "Mojo Man" and "Villanova Junction Blues."
The tracks, featuring Hendrix experimenting on horns, keyboards and percussion, were initially intended to comprise the double-album follow up to Electric Ladyland, First Rays of the New Rising Sun.
