Aysedeniz Gokcin, the Turkish-born pianist, has released her album of Pink Floyd songs done in the manner of Hungarian composer/performer, Franz Liszt. The set, Pink Floyd Lisztified: Fantasia Quasi Sonata, is the latest release from the Royal Academy of Music graduate.
Speaking with Intropia, Gokcin said that Listz and the Floyd have more in common than it might appear at first blush:
"I felt that their concepts and philosophies are very similar, based around romantic heroes who isolate themselves from the world, creating various 'walls' - political, social and emotional."
Gokcin's version of "Another Brick in the Wall" is currently streaming freely online.
Meanwhile, she is due to play a concert in London at St James' Piccadilly on April 25.
