Stooges Announce New Album Title

The Stooges have announced Ready to Die, the follow-up to their first reunion disc, The Weirdness, which hit in 2007. The announcement came from producer Ed Cherney, who spoke with HitFix on the upcoming release:

"[It's] old-time Stooges. It's raw. They're great songs, but not necessarily big choruses. They're the anti-christ of anthems."

He added that frontman, Iggy Pop's lyrics are sharp and as on point as ever:

"He knows what he wants to say. He's watching the world around him." He also said that two of the songs were titled, "I Got a Job But It Don't Pay Sh*t" and "Gun."

The Weirdness was not well received by critics or audiences. Time will tell how Ready to Die fares; its release date has not been announced.
