Duane Allman Box Set Announced

Skydog: the Duane Allman Retrospective, a comprehensive boxed set from Rounder Records, is set for release on March 12.

The collection, curated by Scott Billington and Bill Levenson, and produced by Levenson with Allman's daughter, Galadrielle, includes material from the guitarist's entire career.

According to Rolling Stone, studio sessions with Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett and Boz Scaggs are among the cuts found on the set.

It begins with Duane's stint with the Allman Joys and then the Hour Glass. Also included is Allman's work with Derek and the Dominoes.

One disc, titled Duane's Jukebox, features songs that Duane had on his home jukebox that he used to play along with. A bonus DVD features a press kit and several rare pictures of the Allman Brothers in their prime, plus video reminiscences from contemporaries.
