Film of the 1970 Atomic Sunrise festival that hosted David Bowie, Genesis and Hawkwind will be screened at London's Roundhouse this March. The footage, which was scheduled to be scrapped, was rescued by producer Adrian Everett.
"The music and images are amazing, and my plan is to do a book and DVD of the final edit." Everett told The Independent, "There are so many strands to this story. It's a great story to tell."
The film features The Thin White Duke in his transitional period between folk artist and glam rocker. He is joined by new guitarist, Mick Ronson, in a group called the Hype. Other acts at the show included Graham Bond, Brian Auger, Third Ear Band, Fat Mattress and Gypsy.
After Everett shows the film in March, it is not clear when it will be released to a larger audience.
