Johnny Cash Stamp Coming Soon, Part Of Music Icon Series

Johnny Cash fans will soon be able to stamp the country legend's face on their outgoing mail. The United States Postal Service has announced that a Johnny Cash stamp will be issued this year as part of its "Music Icons" series.

The black-and-white portrait of Cash featured on the stamp was taken by Frank Bez in 1963.

USPS representative Mark Saunders said that Cash is the first of three artists who will get their very own stamps.

Narrowing down which three artists to use, however, was a difficult process, Saunders said.

"We get about 40,000 suggestions for stamp ideas each year but only about 20 topics make the cut," he said.

No word yet on who the other two artists will be or when the Johnny Cash stamp will become available.
