Bono gave an impassioned speech on the state of global poverty as the headlining speaker at TED2013, a conference of global innovators. The U2 frontman and 2005 TED Prize winner said at the conference that progress is being made but much is left to be done.
"The opportunity is real, but so is the jeopardy," Bono explained to an audience that included Microsoft founder, Bill Gates. "We can't get this done until we accept that we can get this done. Inertia is how we screw this up. Momentum is how we bend the arc of history down towards zero."
"We're going to win because the tears that come from our eyes actually come from our hearts," Bono continued. "We're going to win because we have dreams. We're going to win because we are willing to stand up for our dreams."
On the music front, Bono recently revealed that U2 are working on their 13th album. It's still a ways off, but is believed to be titled 10 Reasons To Exist.
