Eagles Donate Signed Guitar To Sandy Hook Relief Fund
Members of the Eagles have thrown their support behind the relief effort for families impacted by the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. The rock icons have donated an autographed acoustic guitar that will be part of an auction called Music for Newtown.
The auction will be held in association with the United Way and is scheduled to take place between March 25 and 27. Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit all signed the guitar.
Proceeds from the auction will support the United Way's Sandy Hook School Relief Fund. Fund organizers issued an official statement about the effort on the United Way's website:
"United Way extends our most sincere condolences and prayers to all those families affected by the devastating events in Newtown/Sandy Hook, Connecticut. While the eyes of the world may be on Newtown/Sandy Hook, to several staff, volunteers and contributors, Newtown is home. We will stand with the community and everyone affected directly and indirectly by this tragic event as we face the days and weeks ahead."
