During an Australian concert over the weekend, KISS paid tribute to Shandee Blackburn, a fan who was stabbed to death last month in the city of Mackay, Queensland.
The girl, who was named after the band's tune, "Shandi," was feted by Paul Stanley in a tribute that brought her parents, who were in the audience, to tears.
"I think everybody knows about a girl called Shandee Blackburn. We lost her. We wish she could be here with us - so why don't we sing little something for her, all of us?" Stanley said from the stage, according to News.com.au.
Shandee's mom, Vicki, told the news source that she was moved by the gesture:
"It was just really sweet. At the end Paul said, 'Let's say goodnight and goodbye to Shandee.' I wasn't crying at all until then. It was a very special moment."
