Charlie Daniels is convalescing after getting a pacemaker implant on Thursday at a Nashville hospital. He was released the next day after the surgery was deemed successful.
In a statement, the legendary fiddler said he decided on the implant after docs discovered his heartbeat was irregular:
"I just had not been feeling well and wanted to get checked out. I am thankful the doctors found the problem and were able to get my heart rate regulated."
"I am feeling so much better," Daniels added, "and looking forward to spending Easter with my family."
Daniels, who had to cancel three dates because of the surgery-one at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, as part of the World Outreach Church Easter service, and two more in New Jersey and Ohio-resumes touring on April 11 in Lynchburg, Virginia.
