Bill Wyman has refused to tour with the Rolling Stones on their upcoming North American tour.
The former band member said he enjoyed his reunion with bandmates Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts during two recent London shows, adding that he thought he would be more involved than he ended up being:
"Keith in particular made me think that I would be a large part of it but when it came to it they told me they only wanted me to do two songs. It was fun but I regretted not playing more. I was a bass guitarist, a rhythm guitarist, I have to be on the button from the moment Charlie does that first drum roll."
He added that that was the reason he declined to tour with them for a two-week, three-show tour: "I said for two songs? No thank you."
The 76-year-old (who is also an avid photographer and restaurateur) released his book Bill Wyman's Scrapbook on Monday. The title includes letters, photographs and memorabilia from his long musical career.
