A statue of Thin Lizzy bass player Phil Lynott was damaged in Dublin after getting knocked over by vandals. The incident led to a tear in the bronze coat Lynott is wearing.
"It seems now that it was just a bunch of high spirited boys, who meant no harm," Lynott's mother, Philomena, told Hot Press magazine. "So I am not annoyed with them. I'm only hoping that none of the lads got hurt."
Investigators spoke with a group of people who lifted the statue back up, attempting to gather some information on the hoodlums, who fled after carrying out the misdeed.
Two men both aged in their 20s would later hand themselves in to the police, and the local Director of Public Prosecutions is currently putting together charges against them.
