Wise Up Ghost, the album collaboration between Elvis Costello and the Roots is due September 17. The LP stemmed from Elvis' appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, a program for which the Roots are the backing band.
"It's a moody, brooding affair, cathartic rhythms and dissonant lullabies," the Roots' Questlove says in the album's press release.
"I went stark and dark on the music, Elvis went HAM on some ole Ezra Pound sh-t."
According to Billboard, the album was was recorded at Feliz Habitat Studios and at Costello's Hookery Crookery Studios, and produced by Steven Mandel with Costello and Questlove.
Quest added that about 20 songs were recorded for the sessions, of which the best 12-14 will make the cut. "I can just say that it's brilliant," he added.
