Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has become perhaps the most unlikely name on Vanity Fair's annual best-dressed list.
In the new issue, Richards is pictured wearing a long black trench coat, a fedora, silver skull ring, a patterned scarf and bright green sneakers. The magazine named him a style "original," and according to the magazine's deputy editor, it's due in large part to the fact that he dresses to a beat all his own.
"While not the traditional, Savile-Row tailored best-dressed man, Keith Richards embodies what it means to be a fashion original," says Aimee Bell. "His avant-garde look has been consistent over many decades."
When asked his favorite place to shop for clothes, Keef's response was a terse, "I don't shop!" and when asked to name his favorite style icon, Richards replied, "Why should I . . . I am one!"
Richards joins the likes of Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and wife Gisele Bundchen, and actress Brooke Shields.
The September issue of Vanity Fair hits newsstands this week.
