Bret Michaels and Greg Kihn will be playing at this year's Kihncert. The 13th-annual event, which is expected to draw 15,000 fans, will feature Michaels as the headliner for the one-day fest, which kicks off on October 12 in San Jose.
Other acts scheduled to perform include Kihn's band, the Tubes, dada, the Brodie Stewart Band, XEB (founding members of Third Eye Blind), and Mad Jack.
Greg Kihn, former DJ at KFOX 98.5 FM, organized the event in conjunction with the Morgan Hill Youth Sports Alliance, whose president Jeff Dixon said:
"The key for us is traffic control and management, security and perimeter control. We're bringing in community volunteers who have experience in event security and event traffic management."
Past lineups of the classic rock festival have included acts such as Kansas, Lynyrd Skynyrd, REO Speedwagon, Boston, and the Who. Tickets will be on sale for $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
