Bruce Springsteen And Bon Jovi Floated For Superbowl Halftime Show

When Super Bowl XLVIII comes to New Jersey's MetLife Stadium in February, some local concert promoters are hoping the NFL will use the area's top musicians for their halftime show.

"It's the 350th anniversary of New Jersey and it's in Jersey," Adam Philipson, the CEO of Red Bank's Count Basie Theatre, told the Star-Ledger.

"So can you get any more Jersey that our own version of the Three Tenors - [Bruce] Springsteen, Bon Jovi and Southside [Johnny]?"

"I'd love to see Billy Joel," said John Scher, another New Jersey promoter. "Even more than Bruce, he's a working class hero. And at the Sandy Benefit, he stole the show . . . His shows are infrequent, and that's a real advantage. It makes it that much more special."

The NFL will announce its decision at an undetermined date this fall.
