Bon Jovi was forced to call off its September 10 concert due to drummer Tico Torres' emergency surgery.
The band was slated to perform in Mexico City when Torres, who had been suffering from severe pains, was convinced by the band and tour crew to go to the hospital for medical attention. He then underwent an emergency appendectomy.
Frontman Jon Bon Jovi explained to fans on the band's website:
"Thankfully, the operation was a success and Tico is now recovering in the care of his doctors at the American British Cowdray Hospital. We'd like to thank the doctors, nurses and all the hospital staff who helped our friend through this difficult time."
Shows in Santiago, Chile, and Buenos Aires, Argentina have been rescheduled for later this month, and the band is slated to begin performing again on September 20 with a show in Rio de Janeiro.
