Van Morrison Moondance Boxset Due Next Month

Warner Brothers has confirmed plans for a new expanded version of Van Morrison's 1970 release Moondance. The new set includes four CDs of unreleased material and one DVD with a his-res digital remix of the album.

In an official statement the label claims that the release will "take the listener right alongside Morrison and his band in studio. There are multiple, often lengthy takes from the recording sessions of nearly every track found on the 1970 original."

Van Morrison himself, however, was not happy with the label's decision to reissue the set, distancing himself from it on his official site:

"I did not endorse this, it is unauthorized and it has happened behind my back. My management company at that time gave this music away 42 years ago and now I feel as though it's being stolen from me again."

The new Moondance boxset is due October 22.
