A new mobile app centered on the life and work of John Lennon is set for release this fall. The app will allow users to explore the period of time Lennon spend in Bermuda, while recording the tracks that would ultimately become much of his album Double Fantasy.
The app, "John Lennon: The Bermuda Tapes," will give users the chance to experience much of the island that way Lennon did while working on the LP.
Features include the recreation of a boat trip he took and a look at several of his explorations throughout the island.
Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, who helped produce the app, commented on it in a press release:
"Writing Double Fantasy was a very exciting time creatively for both John and me. I think the album app captures the sense of discovery and the artistic dialogue that John and I shared at that time and provides a new way to help us imagine a world without hunger."
