Stevie Wonder will perform his 1976 album, Songs in the Key of Life, in its entirety on December 21 as part of his annual House Full of Toys benefit concert at L.A. Live. The performance will mark the first time Wonder has ever played the full album live.
"This is my celebration of song, life and love," Wonder said Tuesday at a news conference. "What is amazing to me is how relevant this album is today. After all, I could never write all the songs in the key of life; but there will be others who will carry on the message of song, love and life."
Songs in the Key of Life, a double album, won the '76 Grammy for record of the year, and Wonder took home three additional awards that same year - producer of the year, pop male vocal performance and R&B male vocal performance ("I Wish").
