Climax Blues Band's Peter Haycock Passes Away At 62

Pete Haycock, founding guitarist for the Climax Blues Band, has died of a suspected heart attack at the age of 62. The Stafford born musician helped the band score several hits including "I Love You" and "Couldn't Get It Right."

The band wrote a remembrance for Haycock, noting his role in getting the band started:

"Climax Blues Band are saddened by the news of the death of Peter Haycock on October 30th 2013 in Germany. Peter was a founder member of the band in 1967 and performed with the band through to 1985 and was one of the finest exponents of slide guitar of his time, and a great singer . . . We are all shocked and sad and would like to pass on our best wishes and condolences to Peter's family and friends."

According to Classic Rock magazine, the original line up split in 1988 but continues on today, albeit with no founding members.
